About the Honor Bus Project

IMG_8602.JPG

Saturday, May 11, 2019, 146 WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Cold War, Gulf War, War on Terror Veterans, and active-duty Soldiers gathered at Northeastern High School for the 15th Honor Bus trip. This day of "Gratitude and Thanks" was sponsored by the Northeastern High School Honor Bus Project. This group of students has taken upon itself the challenge of escorting our local Veterans on an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. to visit the various memorials dedicated to their service. While in Washington, the Veterans also visited the Arlington National Cemetery to witness the ceremony of the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. All participants were treated to a breakfast (prepared by the women's auxiliary of the Mt. Wolf VFW), a bagged lunch (donated by Applebee's), and a banquet style dinner (donated by Mission BBQ) upon return to Northeastern High School.

The Veterans pose for a picture on the steps at Arlington National Cemetery.
